Domestic Violence Awareness Initiatives
Domestic violence awareness has been the national philanthropy of Alpha Chi Omega since 1992. This is a critical national issue, and Alpha Chi Omega is proud to provide awareness and education to our collegiate women, alumnae and friends. Our work is prioritized in three actions:
Serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through fundraising and gifts of time and talents for shelters and other service-providing organizations.
Educate our own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships.
Raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on the impacts of and work being done to end domestic violence.
To fight against unhealthy relationships and build healthy relationships, Alpha Chi Omega provides many opportunities for members across the country to highlight their service to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. We provide promotional items to collegiate members to use during tabling events on campus and educate their campus communities on how to respond to a sister or friend in need.
Did You Know?
When you give to domestic violence awareness initiatives, your contribution helps to provide resources for our chapters to use during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Healthy Relationships Week. In addition, you will support Not Anymore, an engaging online program designed to educate members on sexual assault and relationship violence, and our work with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) in promoting collaborative awareness campaigns and providing educational materials.
The women of Alpha Chi Omega focus on making the world a better place by serving individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. The Campus Sexual Assault Study shows one in five women are victims of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault while in college. Our collegiate women are proud to partner with local domestic violence organizations to raise funds and awareness for this cause.
Our goal is to raise $20,000. Please help us reach our goal by donating today! Only through your generosity are we able to make it one step closer to ending domestic violence.
